Quad port RoIP gateway.
The ORC400 is a rugged, rack-mount device providing an IP interface to multiple conventional VHF/UHF radio networks.
Primarily intended for installation at repeater sites where LAN access is available, the device digitises voice band audio from a connected radio transceivers and exchanges it with a network dispatch centre (e.g. Crosswire), VoIP communication terminal, or other RoIP appliance.
Applications for the ORC400 are varied and extensive, including:
- Replacing expensive leased line and UHF linking equipment with an IP (LAN/WAN/Internet) connection.
- Providing interoperability between incompatable radio networks, either within a single organisation or between multiple organisations.
- Providing IP based access to multiple radio networks/repeaters from a single PC.
- Controlling and monitoring repeater sites.
Key features of the device include:
- Support for simultaneous G.711 or G.729 VoIP compression/decompression on all ports
- Support for a single high speed data radio
- Integrated Selcall encode/decode on all ports
- Integrated CTCSS encode/decode on all ports
- Integrated RSSI and real-time signal quality (RTA) monitoring on all ports
- Configurable SCADA I/O (e.g. battery dump, security monitoring and environmental control)
- Integrated speaker and microphone for local monitoring and communication
- Integrated 8-port gigabit Ethernet hub (1 port providing power over Ethernet for local VoIP phone)
- SNMP support (interrogation and trap origination)
- Integrated web server for remote control and diagnostics
- Extensive local diagnostic capability via LED’s and LCD display
